Dorene Stenzel Hart, 83, of Topeka, passed away March 4, 2011. She was born July 21, 1927, the daughter of William and Lillian Stenzel, in Marion County, Kansas. She attended Washburn University and married George Porter Hart, Jr. in 1947. He preceded her in death September 22, 1982.
Dorene worked for CoreFirst Bank (Commerce) for 22 years primarily in the Trust Department. After retirement she was active in her church, Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church. She also volunteered for several civic organizations. Dorene was a hard working, fun loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed days at her lake home with family and friends. She made sure birthdays and holidays were special occasions.
Survivors include a daughter Pamela Wiksten of Olathe, Ks and a son-in-law Clifford Wiksten, Jr.; a son George (Trey) Hart III, of Springfield, Mo. and a daughter-in-law Theresa Hart; a grandson Ryan Wiksten (wife Laura) of Park City, Kansas; two granddaughters Alexandria Hart and Mikenzie Hart of Springfield, Mo. and her loyal canine companion, Aggie.
Mrs. Hart was cremated. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. Topeka, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in Mt.
