Doris Bauer

Doris Lee Bauer, 71, Topeka, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at her home. She was born April 19, 1940 in Marshall, Missouri to C.E. and Irene (Brown) Whitney. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1958. She married Oliver J. Bauer Jr. on March 21, 1959 and the couple moved to Topeka. They had been married 40 years when Oliver died on Nov. 27, 1999.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Linda Berry (Steve Roach), Berryton; two sons, Hank Bauer and Jerry Bauer, both of Topeka; three grandsons, Kyle, Nick and Ryan Berry; two granddaughters Alyssa and Katelyn Bauer; a sister Margaret (Bob) Alfrey, Marshall, MO; two brothers Kelly (JoAnn) Whitney, Russellville, AR and Roy (Barbara) Phillips, Marshall, MO; many nieces and nephews; and her much loved dog Maggie.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 15, 2011 from 10-11:30 a.m. at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, followed by a graveside service at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
