Mrs. Doris Jeanette Coffman, 81, of Topeka passed away Feb. 24, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born March 3, 1923 in Belvue, KS the daughter of George and Edna Harrower.
Doris was a loving wife and mother all of her life as well as a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was active in all Hayden High Sporting events and always made time to speak with everyone in passing. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed giving her produce back to the people in her community. She will be remembered and loved by all her family and friends.
Doris married Lloyd Coffman on July 21, 1937 in Lyndon, KS. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1990.
Doris is survived by her 4 daughters, Rose Miller, Joplin, MO, Martha Gibbs and Patsy Holden both of Hoyt, KS, and Karen Konrade, Topeka; 7 sons: George, Claude, Lloyd, Jr., Ricky, Raymond, Danny and Tom Coffman all of Topeka; 22 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Interment will be in Topeka Cemetery. Mrs. Coffman will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday. A parish rosary will be at 8:00 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
