Doris E. Bricker
Doris E. Bricker, 88, of Topeka, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Brewster Place. She was born April 28, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Clyde L. and Valerie Hudgins Shipley.
She graduated from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Ill. Doris resided in Kansas City MO before moving to Topeka in September of 1959. She was a member of First Congregational Church and a 50 year member of the PEO Sisterhood.
Doris married Otis E. Bricker on September 17, 1949 in Kansas City, MO. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Clyde B. (Linda) Bricker of Meriden, two grandchildren, Ben (Marcia) and Anna and one great-granddaughter, Bella. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marjorie L. Bricker in 1994.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church. Private inurnment will take place in Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City, MO at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the First Congregational Church, 1701 SW Collins St., Topeka, KS 66604 or to the Brewster Foundation, 1205 SW 29th St., Topeka, KS 66611.
