Doris Ellen Ehler, 98, Topeka, passed away April 27, 2013. She was born April 28, 1914, in Topeka, the daughter of Charles B. and Annie May Johnson White. Doris attended Topeka High School and was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church.
On February 17, 1940, in Topeka, Doris married Dale W. Ehler. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2003. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Paul E. White, Henry M. White, and John J. White; sister, Ardella M. Eckland; and great grandson, Ryan Burdick.
Survivors include children, Bernard D. (Mary) Ehler of Vassar, KS, Rochelle M. (William) Roberts of Grandview, MO, and Marcia J. (Ronald) Hoverstock of Topeka; grandchildren, Maria Christian, David Ehler, John Ehler, and Sandra Burdick; and great grandchildren, Krista Burdick, Joshua Burdick, Dominick Ehler, Jenna Ford, Alison Christian, and Jordan Christian.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Avenue, Topeka, KS.
