Dorothy C. (Trumble) Kissling, age 82, of Topeka, passed away peacefully at her home on Oct. 25th, surrounded by her family.
She was born at the family home December 22, 1930 in Oak Hill, Kansas, the daughter of James H. and Sadie Mae (Mall) Trumble.
Dorothy graduated from Longford High School, in Longford, Kansas and later graduated from Kaw Area Vocational Technical School as a licensed practical nurse.
Dorothy was employed at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas as an LPN on the med/surg unit, and later the newborn nursery, where she retired after 15 years.
She married J. Phillip Kissling on September 24, 1950 in Longford, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2004.
Survivors include a son, John P. (Cathryn) Kissling; two daughters, Susan A. (Richard) Flannigan; and Sandra L. Brown, Eight grandchildren; Stacy (Regan) Holton, Kristen (Jon) Bellamy; Thomas Flannigan, James Flannigan (Lauren Gooden), Jennifer Flannigan (Daniel Fallin); Nathaniel (Melinda) Brown, Veronica (John) Butterfield, Kyle Brown, and ten and one half great-grandchildren.
Per her wishes, Dorothy was cremated.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Dover Federated Church in Dover Kansas on Saturday, November 2nd at 10:30 am. A visitation with the family will be held one hour before the service.
