Dorothy L. Mounkes , 92, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. She was born February 6, 1924, at Reading, Kansas, the daughter of Jacob and Hazel (Peet) Sattler. Dorothy was raised in Neosho Rapids and Reading, Kansas.
Dorothy married Calvin C. Mounkes, Sr. on January 23, 1949 at Emporia, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1994.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Yvonne D. Mounkes and Donna R. Mounkes Jones; son, Calvin C. Mounkes, Jr.; grandchildren, Cody B.R. Bush, Trisha L. Jones, Nicholas W. Jones, Tanner L. Mounkes, Calla A. Mounkes and Tyler Mounkes; great-grandson, Shaffeeq L. Carr; great-granddaughter, Jacy L. Jones; great-great-grandson, Shaffeeq L. Carr, Jr.; sisters, Doris Hartzel and Wilma Tieperman.
Per her request, Dorothy was cremated and private family services will be held at a later date at Bushong, Kansas.
