Dorothy L. Renyer

Dorothy L. Renyer, 78, of Topeka died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born June 4, 1925 the daughter of Roscoe and Lela Shugart Woolaway. She grew up in the Oskaloosa and Ozawkie area. She was a homemaker. She and her husband farmed in the Wakarusa area for many years prior to coming to Topeka in 1985. She married Vernon Renyer on January 13, 1945 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1988. Survivors include Four children; Barbara Grau of Soldier, Ks., Gary Renyer of Topeka, Dennis Renyer of Houston, Texas and Karen Tolbert of Lawrence, Ks., one brother, Glenn Woolaway of Silver Lake, Ks., two sisters, Maxine Tolle of Topeka and Deloris Wehkin of Wichita, Ks., five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Renyer will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The casket will remain closed. Memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice Care, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606. Online condolences may be given to the family at www.penwellgabel.com
