Dorothy Mae Robbins

Dorothy Mae Robbins, 75, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2004 at a Topeka hospital. She was born on April 24, 1929 in Rolla, MO., the daughter of Louis and Effie Walls Taylor. She married George E. Robbins on June 7, 1946 in Rolla, Mo. They moved to Lawrence and later made their home in Topeka. Dorothy was a homemaker and devoted her life to her home and her family. She was proceeded in death by her father, Louis Taylor, her mother, Effie Wheeler, and her brother, Robert Taylor. Survivors include her sister, Debra Howell of Plattville, Wisconsin, husband, George E. Robbins of Topeka, her daughter, Sandy D. Emery of Topeka, two sons, Dr. Larry Robbins of East Lyme, Conn., and Robert E. Robbins of Topeka, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. Mrs. Robbins will lie in state after noon Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1315 S.W. Arrowhead Rd., Topeka, Ks. 66604. Online condolences may be given to the family at www.penwellgabel.com.
