Dorothy E. Morrison, 94, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born December 13, 1922 in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, the daughter of Stanley and Verna (Sampson) Monroe.
Dorothy graduated from Topeka High School in 1940. She was employed as a School Bus Driver for the Seaman School District. She was a member of the American Legion Capitol Post No. 1 Auxiliary, a Metal Detector Club and the Shawnee Boat & Ski Club.
Dorothy married Howard E. Morrison on December 4, 1942 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1998. She was also preceded in death by one son, Howard E. Morrison, III.
Survivors include their children, Thomas L. Morrison of Topeka, Nancy A. Cree of Big Springs, 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606 or to the Big Springs United Methodist Church c/o Robbie Burd, 96 Hwy 40, Lecompton, Kansas 66050.
No memorial services are scheduled and private inurnment will take place at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family.
