Dorothy P. Piper, 95, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at a Eudora care facility. She was born August 9, 1920 in Pauline, Kansas, the daughter of Reginald and Belle (Miller) Grice.
Dorothy graduated from Topeka High School in 1938. She was employed by Zercher Photo for 45 years before retiring. She was a member of University United Methodist Church.
Dorothy married Arthur Piper on July 30, 1955 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1973. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, David and Alfred Grice and one sister, Mary Willett.
Survivors include one daughter, Regina (Patrick) Fagan of Lawrence, Kansas, grandchildren, Mark (Susie) Fagan of Lawrence, Kansas, John Fagan of Washington, DC, Paul (Jennifer) Fagan of Matthews, North Carolina, great-grandchildren, Erin and Max Fagan and Caroline and Campbell Fagan and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donor's choice.
