Dorothy E. Schiefelbein-Fields, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Midland Hospice House. She was born June 7, 1931 in Centralia, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas and Leola (Lindsey) Houpt.
Dorothy attended Seaman High School. She was employed as a seamstress and was a homemaker. Dorothy was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Dorothy married Eugene John "Butch" Schiefelbein. He preceded her in death in 1991. She later married John Harold Fields, Jr. He preceded her in death on October 26, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her twelve year old daughter, Sharon Kay Schiefelbein.
Survivors include children, Katheryn Ann Wood of Olathe, Kansas, Eugene John Schiefelbein, Jr. of Mayetta, Daniel J. Schiefelbein of Topeka, Chris Schiefelbein of Topeka, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and her siblings, Jerry Houpt of Topeka and Helen Livingston of Missouri.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2020 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2700 SE Virginia Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66605.
