Dorthy Figgs

Dorthy Figgs, 82, of Topeka passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011 at Eventide Convalescent Center. She was born on February 25, 1929 in Eskridge, Kansas to Ralph and Mima Christian.

On December 5, 1947 she married George Lee Figgs in Lawrence, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2003. Together Dorthy and George owned and operated Figgs Imports, Inc.

She is survived by her children, Theresa (Jerry) Vincent of Auburn, Alan (Nancy) Figgs of Berryton, Gary Figgs of Topeka and Stephen George Figgs of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Eloise Foga and Genevieve Tebben both of Topeka; a brother, Wendell Christian of Topeka and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 29 at Lynn Creek Cemetery in Berryton. Dorthy will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Friday morning at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
