Douglas C. Rosevelt

Douglas C. "Doug" Rosevelt, 66, of Tecumseh, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Bridge Haven Family Memory Care Center in Lawrence. He was born October 23, 1946 in Topeka, the son of Eugene Charles and Virginia Cooley Rosevelt.

Doug graduated from high school in Santa Ana, CA in 1964. After high school, Doug became a California Forestry Fire Fighter. He returned to Kansas in the late 1960's and attended Washburn University and Kansas University where he graduated in 1976 with an Electrical Engineering Degree. He returned to Topeka and became an Engineer for the Bell System. Doug and his wife, Lois took early retirement so that they could concentrate on a number of rental properties that they had acquired. He was a Scout Master and was able to mentor young men through the Scouts and the church.

Doug married Lois Jones in September, 1970. They have been married for 42 years. She survives. Other survivors include his mother, Virginia Rosevelt of Harlingen, TX, two brothers, Kenneth (Linda) Rosevelt of Los Fresnos, TX and Robert (Michelle) Rosevelt of Berryton and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, KS. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given for Veteran's care to Pointman Ministries c/o Ken Marstall, 1059 SW Harvey St., Topeka, KS 66604.
