Doyle Gene Loney, 56, Topeka, KS, died Thursday, January 31, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center from complications of COPD, after a long battle with this terminal illness which he had for eight years. He was born on July 11, 1956 in Topeka, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Leroy Loney and Ila Margaret Crown Loney.
He attended schools in Topeka, KS, and was employed as a cook for most of his working life. He lived and worked in Kansas, Texas, Florida and Missouri. He was married to Toni Lyn Boaldin. Their marriage ended in divorce. She survives. Siblings include, Robin Wyatt (Judy) Fountain, CO, Keith Loney (Sherri) Warner-Robbins, GA, Kerry Loney, DeAnna Loney, Gerald Loney and Cindy Loney, all of Topeka. He has two step children, Tyler and Miranda. His family, numerous relatives and friends will miss him greatly.
He especially loved his most recent job as a security officer at the Hills Pet Nutrition Science Center where the dogs and cats are housed. He loved fishing, camping and getting on FaceBook playing games, posting items, and chatting with family and friends. He also loved visiting with his friends and family. He was a jack-of-all-trades and could do or fix most anything. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be at Central Church of Christ, 1250 SW College Ave, in Topeka, at 11:00 a.m., on February 11, 2013. Visitation with family and friends will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. that day.
