Dr. Ben R. Craig, DVM, 93, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at a Topeka hospital. He was born in 1931 in Montgomery County, Iowa.
Ben married LaVonne Stultz; they were married for 72 years. She survives. Other survivors include two children, Caron Craig, Doug (Sherry) Craig, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Ben was graduated from Waverly High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Kansas State University in 1959 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1961.
Ben was employed in mixed practice in Liberal, Kansas for 2 ½ years. He then worked for the Department of Agriculture as a Field Veterinary Medicine Officer until his retirement on November 3, 1994.
Those who knew Ben knew him to be an avid fisherman as well as a big K-State football fan. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War with the Air Evac Unit where he served as a Staff Sergeant.
A private Celebration of Dr. Craig's Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
