Dr. Kirk Dutton

Dr. Kirk A. Dutton, Auburn, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008 at his home.

He was born July 19, 1917 in Portis, the son of Thomas and Clara Ackley Dutton.

Kirk attended schools at Portis, Kansas State University and graduated from Dental school at the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1942.

He served during World War II in the 776 Tank Destroyer Battalion in North Africa and Europe from 1942-1944. He was wounded in Germany in 1944 and received the Purple Heart.

Kirk practiced dentistry in Topeka for 50 years, retiring at the age of 80.

Kirk married Betty Wittry on October 15, 1971. She survives. He is also survived by sons, Mike of Copenhagen, Denmark and Steve (Linda) Williams of Waco, Texas; daughter, Kristen (Howard) Rosenberg of Evergreen, Colorado; stepdaughter, Cindy (Arty) Martin of Camas, Washington; great grandchildren, Morgan, Margot and Anna of Seattle, Clara of Waco, Texas, Matthew Dutton Simcox of Denver, Dallas Johnson of Vancouver, Washington, Amber Miller of Topeka; great granddaugher, Ava Marie Miller of Topeka' and siter, Betty (Linton) Lull of Smith Center.

Kirk requested no Memorial service and memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Road, Topeka, Kansas 66617.
