Robert "Bob" Price Stoffer, age 90, of Topeka, Kansas and formerly of Halstead, Kansas, passed away October 16, 2016 in Topeka.

Bob grew up for his first nine years in India, then came back to the United States and lived in Crete, Nebraska and Topeka, Kansas where he graduated from Topeka High School and Washburn University. His father was President of Washburn University until he passed in 1961.

Bob attended KU Medical School in Kansas City where he met his beloved wife, Peg (Lucinda M. Stanton), and they were married in 1948 in Bethesda, Maryland. After completing medical school, Bob joined the Navy in 1948 and spent two years at the Naval Training Center in San Diego, California. After his discharge he moved to Halstead, Kansas where he was the family doctor for the Hertzler Clinic, frequently making house calls. He was called back into the Navy and worked in Washington D.C. for the Department of Defense. He received additional training at Georgetown. After his discharge in 1957, he came back to Halstead for good, specializing in Internal Medicine.

Bob enjoyed golfing, fishing and taking his family and friends out on his boat to ski and fish. He was a leader in his church and poured his life into his family, faith and friends. His special passion was the Hertzler Research Foundation which created the Kansas Learning Center for Health, providing health education to school children and adults. He retired from the practice of medicine in 1991 and moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas. He moved back to Topeka with Peg in 2013 to be close to his daughter, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Jack) Herriman, of Chandler, Arizona, his son, Robert Thomas Stoffer of Phoenix, Arizona, his daughter, Cindy (Joe) Patton, of Topeka, Kansas, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
