Earl Robert Langley, 92, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017. He was born May 16, 1924 in Easton, Kansas, the son of Clell and Luvina (Garner) Langley.
Earl grew up on the family farm at Hoyt, Kansas. He graduated from Meriden High School and attended Washburn University on an athletic scholarship before joining the U.S. Navy during WWII. After his Naval service, he worked at the Colmery O'Neil VA Medical Center for 28 years and farmed until 1990. He was a member of Berryton Baptist Church.
Earl married Virginia Lynn on September 28, 1947 in Topeka. They resided on their farm in Berryton for 66 years. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Earlene (John) Black, Carl (Tina) Langley, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his siblings, Elnora Reischick and Dale Langley.
Earl was preceded in death by one daughter, Ellen Marie Langley and one son, David Lynn Langley.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Private interment will take place in Lynn Creek Cemetery southeast of Topeka.
