Earl Lee Amspacker, 82, of Topeka, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011.
He was born January 3, 1929 in Glasco, KS, the son of Lowell and Josephine (Johnston) Amspacker.
He was a 1947 graduate of Berryton High School, Berryton, KS. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone in Topeka from 1948 retiring in 1986. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Earl married Jean Burbank on August 7, 1949 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Don (Charlene) Amspacker, Melvern, KS and Dan (Judy) Amspacker, Olathe, KS; a daughter, Marcia (Tom) Corbin, Enid, OK; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and one expected.
Funeral ceremonies will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka, KS 66605. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Richland, KS. Mr. Amspacker will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 2627 SW Western Ave., Topeka, KS 66611.
