Eddie Whitehead

Eddie Whitehead, 89, of Topeka, went to be with his Lord on Monday, April 26, 2021. He was born February 11, 1932 in Uniontown, Alabama, the son of John and Mary Whitehead.

Eddie was employed in the construction field and later went to work for Frito Lay as a machine operator for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 2 and Elks Lodge No. 1441.

Eddie married Jimmie Whitehead. To this union was born two children, Eddie Londell Whitehead and Calvin Whitehead. Calvin preceded him in death. He later married Bessie L. Whitehead. She preceded him in death. To this union was born two children, Tremel Whitehead whom preceded him in death and Tricia Whitehead. He raised Tamara McMillon-Harrison, James McMillon, Jr. and Kim McMillon. He later had a union with Beverly Dudley whom preceded him in death. From this union was born one daughter, Bridgit "Pepper" E. B. Whitehead-Baggett. He also raised Billy Williams, Jr. and Barry M. Johnson.

Also surviving are his sister, Louvenija White, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 at True Light Church Ministries, 2046 SE California Ave.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family.
