Edith A. Payne

Edith A. Payne, 82, of Topeka, died Friday, October 7, 2011. She was born November 9, 1928 in Canadian, Oklahoma, the daughter of Simon L. and Lillie Mae (Kirby) Lightle. She married Calud C. Payne on May 22, 1950 in Van Buren, Arkansas. She spent her life as a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to garage sales.

Edith is survived by her husband, Claud; daughter, Janet Reavis; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Sue Osborne; granddaughter, Rachel Marie Zabokrtsky; and a granddaughter-in-law, Shelly Zabokrtsky.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.
