Edith Wheeler Scroggins

Edith Wheeler Scroggins, 83, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019.
She was born August 5, 1935, in Hart County, Kentucky, the daughter of Maupin and Beatrice (Cruse) Wheeler.
Edith was employed by Macy's Department Store in Topeka and Florida until retiring in 2012. She also assisted as a bookkeeper with her husband's business, Paul's Garage in Topeka.
Edith married Paul Chester Scroggins on September 29, 1951 in Florida. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1989. Survivors include four children, Wanda Mitchell, Paul (Anne) Scroggins, Robert (Dixie) Scroggins, Linda Arredondo; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Kaye Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Wheeler; and a half-brother, Layton Wheeler.
Edith enjoyed spending time with family, reading, playing cards, puzzles, gardening, QVCing, tailgating and dining.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
