Edmee Theresa Andres, 89, of Topeka, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022.
She was born April 28, 1933, in Attleboro, Massachusetts, the daughter of Berger and Germaine (Blais) Gustafson.
Edmee graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1952. She furthered her education obtaining her degree from Washburn University in Nursing. She was employed by Memorial Hospital and Methodist Home on College Street prior to retiring as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Edmee married Alvin Wesley Andres on June 19, 1953 in Orlando, Florida. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2012.
Mrs. Andres was a member of First Assembly of God in Topeka where she taught Sunday School and Missionettes. She also accompanied her husband, Alvin Andres in visiting local nursing centers as well as the Topeka Rescue Mission playing music and assisting with ministry services for nearly 34 years. For 6 years she and her husband would travel with RV Maps. Together they also were the grandparents of Royal Family Kids Camp during the summer for several years.
Survivors include her children, Beth (Ken) Hedegaard of Arizona, Susan (Kent) Smith of Topeka, Alvin (Tina) Andres, Jr. of Tecumseh and Karen (Danny) Russell of Missouri; 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her grandmother, Josephine Gustafson.
The joy of Edmee's life, and the legacy she leaves behind, is one of love and service to God, family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Dove Cremations and Funerals – Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, KS 66610.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka, KS 66604.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God, 500 SW 27th St., Topeka, KS 66611 – c/o Royal Family Kids Camp.
