Edmond Richardson Jr., 62, of Topeka passed away on November 19, 2017 at Stormont Vail. Born October 15, 1955, in Topeka, Kansas, he was the son of Edmond Sr. and Freda (Webb) Watts.
He was a graduate of Topeka West High School, class of 1973. He attended the Kaw Area Vocational Technical School, where he graduated with an LPN license.
He was employed for 22 years at Stormont Vail Hospital and then went to work for the Topeka Veteran's Affairs Hospital, where he was currently employed.
Edmond married Augusta (Wheeler) Richardson on December 26, 1975.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Edmond loved going to Chiefs, KU, Royals and his grandsons sporting events. He was a member of Covenant Baptist Church where he participated in many activities. He loved gardening and playing with his dog and grandchildren.
Edmond was preceded in death his father, and brother, Daniel Richardson.
He is survived by his wife, four daughters; Tonja Williams, Amy Richardson, Kandace Richardson, Jenniffer Richardson, nine grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, his mother, Freda (William) Watts, two brothers, Michael (Joye) Richardson, and Timothy (Roxanne) Watts, grandpa, Howard Watts and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Covenant Baptist Church, 5440 SW 37th St, Topeka, KS 66614.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Voluntary Service-VA Eastern Healthcare Service, 2200 SW Gage Topeka, KS 66622, in care of Denise Cunningham for the Community Living Center.
