Edna P. Williams
Edna P. Williams, 78, Topeka, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born March 1, 1930 in Moorehead, Iowa, the daughter of Ellis C. and Dolly P. Michaels. She had lived in the Topeka vicinity since 1948.
Mrs. Williams worked as a supply clerk in the canteen at the VA Hospital for 25 years before retiring in Dec., 1987.
She was a faithful member of West Ridge Baptist Church.
She married Charles J. Williams on May 11, 1946 in Topeka. He died March 4, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles J. Williams in 1986.
Survivors include two grandsons, Charles J. Williams, Jr. of Spring Hill, Ivan Williams of Grandview, MO, a granddaughter, Rebecca Jones of Osage city; a brother, Floyd Michaels of Ozawkie; four great-grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, C.J., and Brianna.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday at West Ridge Baptist Church, 7627 SW 17th St. (17th and Indian Hills Road). Interment will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Williams will lie in state from noon until service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to West Ridge Women's Mission group.
