Edna M. (Sims) Keiser, 96, of Berryton, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at a Topeka hospital. She was born October 14, 1921 in Paxico, Kansas, the daughter of William and Rosa (Piel) Weith.
Edna resided in Berryton for most of her life. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in McFarland, Kansas and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hope Lutheran Church and Christ Lutheran Church. She was a member and served as an officer for the Dorcas Circle.
Edna married Merle Sims on October 14, 1944 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1982. She later married Arvin Keiser on May 16, 1987 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Bernice Cline and Roberta "Bobbie" Ostrander and two step-children, Josephine Hennessy and Justin Keiser.
Survivors include four sons, Gary (Bev Gunderman) Sims of Topeka, Robert (Dianna) Sims of Topeka, Ron (Susan) Sims of Berryton, Randy Sims of Leawood, Kansas, two step-children, Jacqueline (Robert) Watkins of Lubbock, Texas and Jeanine (Eldon) Lanham of Mound City, Kansas as well as nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Tecumseh. Edna will lie in state and her family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
