Edward Eugene "Gene" Brown, 72, of Berryton, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2008 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born on August 12, 1936 in Topeka, the son of Thomas E. and Velma L. Brown. He graduated from Topeka High School. Gene was an Army veteran. He owned several businesses including B&B Mobile Home Sales & Parts, B&G Mobile Home Repair Sales & Service and was a partner in B&B Solar Systems. He was a member of the Meadowlark New Voice Club. Gene married Wilma Kennedy in June of 1967 in Oklahoma. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Robert (Sheri) and their children, Kennedy and Dakota and Kara. Surviving from a previous marriage is a daughter, Roxanne Borsick and her children, Lori and Holly, two great-grandchildren, and a son, Christopher. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Emmanuel Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Gene will lie in state from 2:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030.
