Edward S. Harrell, 68, Topeka, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at St. Francis Health Center. He was born on July 8, 1944 in St. George, Kansas to Chester and Golda (Edwards) Harrell.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War as a Seabee in Da Nang. He was in management for Payless Cashways where he retired in 1998.
On October 4, 1969, he married Nita A. Olliso in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Anthony, Andrew (Erin McKeon) and Joseph (Jackie); one granddaughter, Alessandra Harrell; sister, Carol (Gene) Hoerman, sisters-in-law, Joyce Harrell and Marge (Galen) Koci; brothers-in-law, Russell, John (Fran) and Jim (Sue) Olliso and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by their son, Luke Harrell and brother Lyle Harrell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, July 9 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow with military honors in the Topeka Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
