Elaine Helen Chambers, 68, of Topeka, Kansas died Friday, December 5, 2003.
She was born June 12, 1935 in Leoville, Kansas to Frank and Anna Schmitt Kruse. She grew up in Leoville and graduated from Leoville High School. She received her BS degree from St. Mary's of the Plains College, Dodge City, and a master's degree from Fort Hays State University at Hays, Kansas.
She married Donald J. Robben in August of 1956. He preceded her in death. She touched many lives while teaching in Northwest, Southwest, Kansas and Farmington, New Mexico.
She married Carroll Chambers in May of 1984. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Brian Jon Robben.
Survivors include three daughters Sharon and husband Dave Stearns of Altoona, WI; Mary Jo Hedden of Salina, KS; Lynn and husband Daryn Blaha of Assaria, KS; One son Christopher and wife Brenda Robben of Victoria, KS; 11 Grandchildren; One sister Joan Glotzbach of Topeka; Three brothers Dean Kruse of Almena, KS; Max Kruse of Bossier City, LA; Dave Kruse of Selden, KS and a special friend Arden Cowherd of Topeka, KS.
A memorial service will be held at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. A rosary will be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. with a time of visitation following. Private inurnment will take place at Norcatur Cemetery at a later date.
