Elaine Walsh

Elaine L. Walsh, 89, died Sunday, September 26, 2010. Elaine was born January 15, 1921, to Clyde and Lucille Greene, Galena, Illinois. She married Orville A. Speaker, who preceded her in death in 1954, and later married Robert J. Walsh, who died in 1970. Elaine moved to Kansas to be near her daughter and family in 1981.

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Karen (Dale) Maas of Topeka; her partner, Ross J. Slagle, Overbrook; grandchildren, Michele (Larry) Rayborn and Michael (Cadie) Maas, all of Topeka; Daniel Speaker and Diane Speaker in Illinois; Todd (Carol) Speaker, Scott (Meg) Speaker, and Diane (Scott) Bournique, all of Connecticut. She was also the very proud great grandmother to 16 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Street, Topeka; with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Private graveside services will be at a later date. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Helping Hands Humane Society c/o Dove Cremation & Funeral Service.
