Elaine P. Wyss, 89, of Topeka, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018.
She was born September 23, 1928, in Junction City, Kansas, the daughter of Charles James and Martha Elizabeth (Kissling) Graham. She was a1946 graduate of Junction City High School where she served as Class Secretary.
Elaine was employed by Central National Bank for 6 ½ years, later working for Geary County School District #475 for 17 years, retiring in 1993.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Nimble Fingers in Junction City. She was active in various organizations in the community including Gamma Phi #1839 of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International since 1976, Past President of Ladies' Reading Club and Jaycee Jaynes, Girl Scouts of America; leader for 6 years; Day Camp Director 3 years, Sunday School Teacher for 17 years at Zion United Church of Christ, Buyer for Geary Community Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop for 5 years and belonged to 2 Bridge Clubs, one being "The Girls" Bridge Club since 1952.
Elaine married Dean E. Wyss on June 5, 1949 in Junction City, Kansas. He preceded him in death in August 13, 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Debby (Donald) Adams, Topeka; and a grandson, Jason Adams, Topeka; her brother-in-law, Jack (Kay) Wyss, Albuquerque, NM; a niece; and nephew; and their children.
Elaine enjoyed making Stained Glass and bird watching.
Honoring Elaine's request, cremation is planned. A private family graveside ceremony will be held at Highland Cemetery, Junction City, Kansas. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.
