Eldon Edward Boucher, 78, Topeka, died Friday July, 1, 2011 at Midland Hospice Care. He was born July 23, 1932 in Zurich, KS the son of Hector and Celia (Gagnon) Boucher.
Eldon was raised around Zurich and graduated in 1950 from Palco High School. He attended the University of Kansas, and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He married Beverly Arlene Wedeking on August 6, 1960 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka. Eldon served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by DuPont, later Flexel, and retired after 36 years. He enjoyed wood working and spending time in the country. He especially loved spending time with his family, coaching his kids' baseball teams, and watching his grandkids sports teams.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons, Brett (Susan) Boucher of Admire, Dean Boucher and Kirk Boucher both of Topeka; six grandchildren, Nathan Martin, Taylor Boucher, Jonathan Boucher, Tanner Boucher, Cheyann Boucher, Zachary Boucher; one great-grandchild, Kaydence Martin; sisters, Sister Vivian Boucher of Pagillion, NE, Cleota Dinkle of Plainsville, KS; brothers, Norbert Boucher of Lakecity, PA, Leroy Boucher of Big Springs, Eugene Boucher of McCook, NE, and Kenny Boucher of Sun City, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Alfreda Virgason and Lucille Desmarteau Fischer.
Per his wishes, Eldon was cremated. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 8, 2011 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Topeka. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
