Eleanor A. (Misak) Rapp, 81, of Topeka, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016.
She was born December 23, 1934, in Freeport, Kansas, the daughter of Ed and Rose (Wolff) Misak.
Eleanor was a graduate of Bluff City High School and received an associate's degree in Education from Hutchinson Community College. She started her career in Manhattan, Kansas and finished in Fairfax County, Virginia. Her entire life, Eleanor encouraged and valued the importance of education. She was proud of the fact that her children and grandchildren obtained higher education degrees.
Eleanor was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Topeka, United Methodist Women in Topeka, Woman's Club of Topeka, and PEO.
Eleanor was a lover of sports, both playing and watching, a loyal Kansas State Wildcat fan, and baker of beautiful pies and cinnamon rolls. She loved to play bridge and attend family reunions, where her greatest joy was visiting with people.
Eleanor married Galen W. Rapp on August 12, 1956, in Bluff City, Kansas. He survives.
Other survivors include children, Curt (Carla) Rapp, Loren (Amy) Rapp, and Gayla Rapp; grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, and Collin Rapp; and sister, Mary Ellen Shockey.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016, in the Klasse Chapel at First United Methodist Church, 600 SW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, Kansas 66603, where the family will receive guests one hour prior to the service. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or the Woman's Club of Topeka, 5221 SW West Dr., Topeka, Kansas 66606.
