Elizabeth Ann Fluke, 66, of Topeka, passed away suddenly Sunday, November 25, 2012 and went to be with God, her mother, Sally, father, JB, sister, Kathy and her daughter, Angel. Ann was born March 25, 1946 in South Carolina and later lived in Florida and spent most of her life in Wilmer, AL, where she attended school.
Ann married Timothy T. Fluke on July 23, 1965 in Wilmer, AL and moved to Topeka where they remained married for 47 years. Ann worked as a Pharmacy Technician at both Blaylock Drug and the Highland Park Pharmacy for several years while raising her family. She was always most proud of her role as a mother and wife. Ann also served as a Brownie Leader and Cub Scout Leader with her kids. She was a member of the Top-Kan Twirlers, a very avid reader and was a member of the Friends of the Library. Her book collection was another one of her joys.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Tim her two children, Amy Elizabeth Fluke and her husband, Sean Freeman and her son, James Jason and his wife, Anna Banks, and was a loving grandmother (Grammy) to Katie Fluke, Gabriel Fluke, Alaina Fluke, Elizabeth (Paige) Freeman-Fluke, Harley Fluke and Katelynn Williams. Other survivors include her sister, Mary (Kenny) Odom and her brother, Jimmy (Ann) White, both of Alabama. She was very loved and will be missed by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews along with the Guardian of the family, Zoah Crumpton. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her daughter, Angel.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Following the services, a gathering of family and friends will be held at the American Legion Capitol Post No. 1, 3800 SE Michigan Ave., Topeka, 66605. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Elizabeth Ann Fluke Memorial Fund c/o Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave., Topeka, KS 66605.
