Elizabeth E. Falter, 77, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021. She was born January 3, 1944 in West Point, Mississippi, the daughter of H.D. Dodds and Ludie Raines Hester and Joseph Hester.
Elizabeth attended East Topeka Junior High School and Kaw Valley Tech in St. Mary's where she received certificates for CNA Certification Design and Social Services. She was employed as a Caretaker and a Social Worker Designee in the Health Care Industry.
Elizabeth married Wallace A. Falter on December 18, 1974 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include children, Larry Dean Smith of Topeka, Laurie Ann Smith of Topeka, Scott DeWayne Smith of Topeka, Rhonda Jo Shibley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Allen Dale Smith of Ellsworth, Kansas, Nathan Falter and Serenity Falter, sixteen grandchildren, Danielle Smith, Megan Smith, Amanda McDermott, Samantha O'Handlen, Samuel Smith, Erika Bruton, Billy Bruton, Chelsea Smith, Jared Drain, Justin Drain, Deanna Smith, Bradley Smith, Charles Smith, Allen Smith, Jr., Gina Smith and numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, JoAnn Porubsky of Topeka, Michael Hester of Topeka, L.D. Dodds of Topeka and Clifford Dodds of Topeka. Also surviving are two half-siblings, Walter Hester and Patricia Gerke.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her daughter, Becky Smith and three brothers, James Howard Dodds, Milton Dodds and Dewey Dodds and one half-sister, Mary Lou Schmitter.
Cremation has taken place and no memorial services are planned. Private inurnment will take place in Rochester Cemetery at a later date.
