Ella L Fisher, 87, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014. She was born April 16, 1927 in Nevada, Mo., the daughter of Jesse J. and Edith M. (Schaffer) Quall, Sr.
Ella attended schools in Nevada, MO. before moving to Topeka in 1944. She worked for Southwestern Bell for 10 years, Allied Answering Bureau until 1981, and State Defense Building as a switchboard operator before retiring in 1991. Ella actively volunteered for Kaw Valley Girl Scouts, Head Start, and was Division 9 Coordinator or the Air Force Sergeants Association for 12 years.
Ella married Don K. Fisher on October 4, 1947 in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2013. They were married for 65 years.
Other survivors include a daughter, Edye Salmans of Topeka; four grandchildren, Ellarie Siegel, Trey Siegel, Tayler Salmans and Tyler Salmans, all of Topeka; brother, Jesse Quall Jr. (Deanna); brother-in-law Ted Fisher, Topeka; sister-in-law, Pat Fisher of Council Grove, and many nieces and nephews.
Ella is preceded in death by her sister, Patty Moran and her husband, Wilbur Moran of Topeka; brother-in-law, Bill Fisher of Council Grove; and sister-in-law, Freda Fisher of Topeka.
Memorial services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, August 20th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service in Topeka. The family will hold visitation 1 hour before the service. Inurnment will follow at Penwell Gabel Cemetery.
