Emil Lutz, Jr., 85, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at a Topeka hospital. He was born August 18, 1932 in Topeka, the son of Emil and Ollie (Stewart) Lutz, Sr.
Emil graduated from Berryton High School. He was an Army Veteran, serving in Alaska during the Korean War. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Washburn University and began a long career in human resources. Emil served as employment manager at Southwestern Bell for 30 years. He later worked for the Kansas Lottery and retired as Director of Legislative Services at the Kansas Capitol in 1999.
Emil was an avid collector of antique tractors and enjoyed attending tractor shows throughout the country.
Emil married Marita Lynch on August 18, 1956. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Barbara (Bob) Sloan, Brian (Laura) Lutz and three grandchildren, Preston and Mallory Lutz and Grant Sloan.
Cremation has taken place. Private inurnment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery southeast of Topeka at a later date. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:30 pm. Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave.
