Emma "Marie" Folsom, 79, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at her home. She was born May 15, 1934 in Aurora, KS, the daughter of Emory and Belmae LaBarge Dallen.
Marie has resided in Topeka since 1958. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
Marie married Jule C. Folsom on December 22, 1952. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Marc C. (Glennis) Folsom of Topeka, Sherri L. (Joe) Patterson of Hastings, NE, Kim M. (Kelly) Stauffer of Topeka, three grandchildren, Lyndsay, Emily and Shelly, two great-grandchildren, Annabella and Lily, and siblings, DeWayne Dallen, Janie Girard, Farrell Dallen and Doris Bergstrom. Marie was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua and two sisters, Anna Lea and Yvonne.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at East Side Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Marie will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to East Side Baptist Church, 4425 SE 29th St., Topeka, KS 66605.
