Ernest F. Fregon
Ernest F. Fregon, 85, of Topeka passed away July 21, 2009. He was born December 3, 1923 in Clay County, the son of Joseph and Antoinette Frigon. Ernie married Charlotte Rosa on January 7, 1946 in Concordia, Kansas. They had three children Jean Shump, James Fregon (Barbara), Dorothy Herndon.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte, his three children, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Bernard (Betty) Frigon, a sister, Genevieve McIntosh and extended family. He was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian church, Telephone Pioneers, AARP, Disabled Veteran's, American Legion, 446 Bomb Group Association. He retired from Southwestern Bell after 43 years of service. He served in the US Air Force in World War II.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday July 25, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel. Burial will follow at Half-Day Cemetery. Ernest will lie in state at the funeral home after 3:00 p.m. on Friday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 1821 SW 37th, Topeka, KS 66611 and Northeast Kansas Parkinson's Association, PO Box 251, Topeka, KS 66601.
