Ernest W. Bryant

Ernest W. Bryant, 94, of Berryton, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006. He was born September 4, 1912 in Dearborn, MO, the son of George and Lura Singelton Bryant. Ernest married Mary Hyatt on June 16, 1946 in Topeka. Ernest worked for General Motors 35 years. Ernest and Mary worked camping resorts for 14 years. They spent 20 winters in Texas. Survivors include his wife, Mary, a daughter, Sandra and husband, David Parker of Berryton, two grandchildren, James and Marade and their families of California, daughter-in-law, Debbie Bryant of Oregon, step-grandchildren, Jennifer and Andy and their families, many wonderful nieces, nephews, other family and friends and his beloved dog, Rascal. Ernie was preceded in death by one son, Fred Bryant and seven siblings. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Ernie will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Grace Community Church, 310 E. 8th St., Overbrook, KS 66524 or to the KSU Cancer Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506.
