Ervin A. Lord, 83, of Topeka, went to be with his Lord on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born October 2, 1929 in Lulu, FL, the son of William D. and Madeline L. Barnett Lord.
Ervin was a veteran of the Korean War. His military career spanned 22 years, serving in the Army and Air Force before retiring in 1970. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Roach Hardware for 17 years. He attended Lakeview Church of the Nazarene.
Ervin married Alice C. Stevener on June 5, 1954 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Carolyn J. (Joseph) Weaver of San Antonio, TX, Linda S. (Tony) Stumbaugh of Tecumseh, Sharon E. (Kris) Schaub of Tecumseh, one son, David S. (Noela) Lord of Pomona, nine grandchildren, Joseph (Julianne) and Matthew Weaver, James Stumbaugh, Kyle (Tammie) Lord, Emily (Michael) Brent, Lainey and Stephany Lord, William and Benjamin Schaub and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Ervin will lie in state from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
