Esther "Pauline" Franzen, 87, Olathe, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Olathe hospital.
Pauline was born April 30, 1920 in Independence, Kansas, the daughter of W. J. and Iva (Brown) McDaniel.
She was a life long member of the Nazarene Church.
Pauline married Dean Franzen in 1950. They later divorced.
Survivors include a sister, Marie Hull, Independence, daughters; Jane Cipolla and husband, John, Overbrook, Karen Kohn and husband, Michael, Baldwin, Kimberly Scott and husband, Cornelius, Carthage, MO; sons; Daniel Franzen, and Doug Franzen and wife, Alicia, all of Burlingame; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Orville McDaniel, a son, Reginald and granddaughter, Jennifer.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Harrisonville Cemetery in Bolton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road.
Pauline struggled with Alzheimer's disease for the past 10 years, yet never forgot to smile.
