Ethel A. Guliford, 86, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at a Topeka care facility. She was born November 14, 1925 in Henderson, TX, the daughter of Otis and Nancy Sammons Wiley.
Ethel graduated from Tatum High School in Tatum, TX. She had previously resided in Longview, TX and Borger, TX, before moving to Topeka in 1965. She was a member of the Apostle's Way Church.
Ethel married Chester Guliford in 1962. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Vercelia Carter and one son, Leslie Glaspie. Survivors include one daughter, Annie Smith and two sons, Tommie Glaspie and Glynn Glaspie, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday Mount Auburn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the KSU Cancer Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family.
