Ethel Ferne Gentry

Ethel Ferne Gentry passed away on February 6, 2014 at Presbyterian Manor. She was born in Verdon, Nebraska on November 27, 1927, the youngest of seven children born to Claude and Lyda (Kehler) Wade. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, parents, and six siblings.
She met Donald at a dance in 1944 and they were married two weeks later. Donald was 20 and Ethel was 16. Ethel was a homemaker most of her life. She attended rural schools and received her GED from Topeka High School in 1982. She liked to fish, play games, read and work in her garden.
Ethel is survived by her daughter Connie Foltz and Connie's husband Tom. A visitation will be held at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service on February 10, 2014 from 3-5PM. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Good Samaritan Fund at Presbyterian Manor, 4712 SW 6th Topeka, Kansas 66606.
