Ethel Marie Lester, 78, Topeka, passed away March 4, 2004 at a Topeka nursing home. She was born March 3, 1926 in Topeka, the daughter of William and Florence Young Morgan.
She graduated from Seaman High School and married Delbert Lester. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Mrs. Lester was a home maker and loved to play bingo and word searches.
Survivors include Two Sons: James Long of Bennington, Kansas
and Robert Lester of Topeka; Three Step-Sons: Paul Lester of Scranton,
Carl Lester of Marysville and Melvin Lester of Scranton;
Two Grandchildren; Five Great-Grandchildren; Fourteen Step-Grandchildren; Sixteen Step-Great-Grandchildren; Two Step-Great-Great-Grandchildren;
Four Sisters: Bonnie Hartzell of Topeka; Mildred Richardson of Tulsa, OK; Margaret Shackelford of Toledo, Ohio and Marilyn Greenmore of Orlando, FL
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel. Interment will follow in Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Lester will lie in state at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, where the family will greet friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
