Eugene J. Fatseas, 76, Topeka, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at his home.
He was born Jan. 30, 1932 in New York City, the son of James and Barbara Kymla Fatseas. He was raised in New York City. He achieved Eagle Scout as a young man, and after high school graduation, entered the U.S. Air Force.
He was in sales his entire working life, and retired from Payless Cashways in 1997.
He married Phyllis Wiberg in 1952. They were later divorced. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Mark Fatseas and wife, Virginia of Kansas City, MO, a daughter, Barbara Zlatnik and husband, Craig of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Ashley Thill, Megan Fatseas, Kara Fatseas, and Cody Zlatnik; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Fatseas of Corona, CA, Steven Fatseas of Tacoma, WA, Frank Fatseas of Olympia, WA.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Hope Chapel with inurnment in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
