Eugene Rice Sr.
Eugene Rice Sr., 68, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009 at ManorCare Health Services. He was born November 10, 1940 in Hobart, OK, the son of Calvin J. Rice Sr. and Mary L. (Bennett) Rice.
He is survived by his son; Eugene Rice Jr. (Janet), and daughters; Jerreddia Mansfield, Sarah Rice, and Arnet Rice; brothers, Rev. Henry Rice, and Calvin Rice Jr.; sisters, Jimmie Crane, Josie(Deacon James)Weaver, and Carolyn Harris; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ida Mae Johnson, his parents, three brothers, and one grandchild.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday April 16, 2009, at Topeka Cemetery. Eugene will lie in state after 12:00 PM Wednesday April 15, at Dove Funeral Home, 4020 SW Sixth Ave. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wed. evening.
