Eun Mi Myers (42), of Topeka, KS, died on Monday, 27 June 2016 while in care at Midland Hospice. Born Eun Mi Kim on 22 January 1974 to Noc Seo Kim and Hea Suk Jeon in Incheon, South Korea, she came to the United States in 2000.
Eun Mi was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 25 April 1998. She served in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square mission where she assisted with the Winter Olympics in 2002.
She also attended Brigham Young University—Hawaii (and later Washburn University) where she studied Exercise and Sport Science. She enjoyed Modern dance, Korean traditional dance and Korean drums.
In 2004 she married Derrick T. Myers in the Laie, Hawaii temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and together they had three children: David (10), Andrew (9) and Derrick (7). They divorced in 2012.
Eun Mi was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in June 2015. She continued her involvement with dance and other social activities when she joined the Single Adult program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Kansas City region. There, she developed close friendships with many Mid-Singles in Kearney, MO where she often attended church services.
Eun Mi is known for her strong testimony of Jesus Christ. She will be remembered for her insightful, heartfelt and tender comments about applying the teachings of Christ in everyday life. She spent much of her energy in the last days of her life sharing her testimony in every conversation, but especially with her three boys.
Eun Mi is survived by her father, mother and three siblings: Eun Sung Kim, Hee Sang Kim and Hea Suk Jeon. Eun Mi's remains are held in the care of Dove Cremation & Funeral Service for return to South Korea with family.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2401 SW Kingsrow, Topeka, KS. Dove Cremation & Funeral Service in Topeka is assisting the family.
