Evelyn A. Geiken, 67, of Berryton, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at her home. She was born on August 6, 1938 in Wamego, the daughter of George and Alvina Armbrust. She graduated from Wamego High School. She lived in the Topeka and Berryton communities most of her life. She was employed by Whelan's Lumber Company for 35 years before retiring in September of 2000. She married Verlyn J. "Guy" Geiken on March 28, 1958 in Wamego. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Rick L. and wife, Terri Geiken of Topeka, one daughter, Tammi J. and husband, Jed Fraker of Olathe, grandchildren, Curtis, Brett and Jessi Geiken of Topeka, Miranda and Nick Sims of Olathe and Paige and Taylor Fraker of Lenexa, one brother, Harold "Ace" Armbrust of Overland Park, two sisters, Margene Pageler of Wamego and Bernadine Scully of Osceolo, Wisconsin. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Lynn Creek Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Evelyn will lie in state 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
